Braid Strip Tool Provides Safe, Efficient Method
for Removing Shielding from Bulk Cables
HUNTINGDON VALLEY, P.A. –The JADE Corporation today announced the general availability of its Cable Braid Strip Tool, a unique, high-quality solution for stripping shielding from bulk cable. The Braid Strip Tool provides manufacturers with a reliable method for wire stripping and removing braided shielding to expose conductors for cable connections.
Manufacturing harness cables requires assembling connectors onto wires and encapsulating this termination with a backshell or overmolded strain relief. Manufacturers insulate the cable using laminated foils or by weaving a flexible wire braiding around the individual masses of wires (bulk cable). The insulation, or shielding, provides protection from electromagnetic and radio frequency interference that can disrupt data transmission.

JADE’s Cable Braid Strip Tool is a bench mountable unit that can remove braiding from cables ranging from .10 to .63 inches in diameter. The length of the strip is adjustable from .25 inches to 4.0 inches and the braid can be exposed at any length within this range.
